The talented midfielder surpassed her teammate Alessia Russo, along with Erin Cuthbert from Chelsea, Mary Fowler of Manchester City, Yui Hasegawa (Manchester City), and Phallon Tullis-Joyce from Manchester United.

Mariona is now the third player from the Gunners to claim this highly esteemed individual honor in the domestic league, following in the footsteps of Kim Little in 2011/12 and Vivianne Miedema in 2018/19.

In the previous season, Mariona netted nine goals in 21 Women’s Super League matches, and eight goals in 15 Women’s Champions League matches, leading her team to victory in the final held in Lisbon. This marked her third consecutive Champions League win and fourth overall.

She also contributed with an additional two goals and two assists during the Women’s League Cup, and replicated this performance for Spain at Euro 2025, guiding her country to the final.

Meanwhile, Olivia Smith, who joined the Gunners from Liverpool this summer, was recognized as the Young Player of the Year for her impressive performances last season.
