New Delhi, Feb 28 (NationPress) Lionel Messi remains driven to secure more titles with Inter Miami, aspiring to enrich his already remarkable collection of trophies. The Argentine star reflected on his transition to Major League Soccer (MLS) nearly two years after his arrival.

Since joining the Miami team, Messi has steered his club to the MLS Supporters Shield, marking his 46th trophy in football—an achievement that solidifies his record as the most decorated male soccer player in history—as well as the MLS League Cup, which was the inaugural trophy for Inter Miami. “Our ambition at Inter Miami is to win titles. That’s the objective, the aim. We want to attain victories, nurture talent, showcase our abilities, and the synergy with our new teammates is outstanding,” Messi shared with Apple Music.

The eight-time Ballon d’Or recipient further expressed his enjoyment in this phase of his career, stating he is not preoccupied with future plans.

“My future? I feel great right now, and I’m savoring every moment of my career. I’m loving club matches, my teammates, family, and friends… I’m not looking ahead. I’m simply relishing the present,” he added.

Messi's entry into the MLS was a significant milestone for the league. Over the years, the United States has witnessed many former stars join the league for a last hurrah, but Messi's transition from Paris Saint-Germain to the U.S. was a surprise worldwide, given his stature. The 37-year-old added that he hopes other teams will take clues from Miami’s approach.

“I always envisioned starting a new chapter in the MLS. I’ve always desired this move. Inter Miami enticed me as the club is expanding and evolving. I wanted to come here to help the club grow, while also enhancing the MLS's global presence,” he remarked.

“The MLS is rapidly advancing as a league, resonating with the culture of the United States. The league is undergoing significant evolution and expansion. I wish to see more clubs emulate Inter Miami's model,” he concluded.
