Morrisville Samp Army to Face Deccan Gladiators in Abu Dhabi T10 Final

Abu Dhabi, Dec 2 (NationPress) Morrisville Samp Army clinched a spot in the final after defeating Delhi Bulls in the 2024 Abu Dhabi T10 semifinals held at the Zayed Cricket Stadium on Monday. They will face Deccan Gladiators in the final showdown once again. The Samp Army managed to beat the Delhi Bulls by five wickets, thus maintaining their championship hopes in this eighth iteration of the tournament.

In pursuit of a target of 90 runs, USA international Andries Gous withstood the pressure from the Delhi Bulls' bowling unit, finishing with a vital 38 runs. The right-handed batsman held his ground even as wickets fell around him, maintaining his composure after being hit on the helmet by Salman Irshad, the Pakistani fast bowler.

However, the match shifted dramatically when Irshad claimed two quick wickets, dismissing Gous and Karim Janat. This left the Samp Army needing 30 runs off just 3 overs with only 5 wickets remaining.

Veteran players Jack Taylor from England and Imad Wasim from Pakistan steadied the innings. After a cautious start, the duo began to find the boundaries and completed the chase with three balls to spare, with Taylor scoring 23 runs off 11 balls, ensuring Morrisville's progression to the final.

Earlier, the Delhi Bulls faced a devastating bowling display from the Samp Army, with Isuru Udana from Sri Lanka and Afghanistan's Amir Hamza wreaking havoc on the Bulls' batting lineup. Udana took three wickets for just 17 runs in two overs, while Hamza claimed two wickets for 22 runs. Udana was also awarded the man of the match for his outstanding performance.

The Samp Army restricted the Bulls to a score of 89/7 in 10 overs, setting up a straightforward chase that they completed with five balls remaining.
