Hyderabad, Oct 22 (NationPress) The Mumbai Meteors triumphed over the Bengaluru Torpedoes with scores of 15-13, 15-13, 18-20, 15-10 during Season 4 of the Prime Volleyball League 2025 at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, Hyderabad, on Wednesday. This victory propelled them to the top of the points table. Shubham Chaudhary earned the title of Player of the Match due to his exceptional performance.
In a different sporting event, the 11-time Asian Tour champion found himself in a tight three-way race for the lead alongside Zimbabwe’s Scott Vincent and Wade Ormsby from Australia as they approached the final round of the Jakarta International Championship, part of the elevated Asian Tour series leading to LIV Golf.
Ultimately, Bhullar slipped to T19 after a challenging four-over final round, while Ormsby, the 2023 International Series Thailand champion, managed to narrowly defeat Vincent, the winner of International Series Morocco, preventing Vincent from achieving a consecutive tournament win.
This outcome positioned Vincent at the top of the rankings, putting him in a favorable spot for next season’s LIV Golf, with Ormsby climbing to third place. Bhullar, currently in 35th position, is eager for a breakthrough as the series nears an exciting finish, offering substantial points in the next four tournaments within five weeks.
“It has been a really good year. I have been striking the ball well and staying consistent. In Jakarta, I led for most of the tournament, but Wade played brilliantly over the final stretch. I’ve been working hard on my mental game - focusing, visualising, meditating - and I feel both mentally and physically in a great place,” he stated.
The competition will be fierce with prominent players including former world No.1 Dustin Johnson and major champions Patrick Reed, Charl Schwartzel, and Louis Oosthuizen, alongside 11 other LIV Golf stars.
“The approach remains consistent - 72 holes, aim for more birdies and fewer bogeys. It’s fantastic to see such a robust field. The presence of these superstars bolsters the International Series’ objectives and positively impacts the growth of golf in Asia,” he added.
Other notable Indian golfers competing this week include Rayhan Thomas, SSP Chawrasia, Ajeetesh Sandhu, and Karandeep Khochhar.
