New Delhi, Nov 19 (NationPress) Shakib al Hasan shared a heartfelt note for his fellow cricketer Mushfiqur Rahim, who celebrated his 100th Test appearance, becoming the first Bangladeshi cricketer to achieve this prestigious milestone during the second and final Test against Ireland in Dhaka on Wednesday.

Since his debut in 2005, the wicketkeeper-batter has been a steadfast player in all formats of the game. His remarkable longevity is particularly impressive in Tests, especially considering the limited number of matches Bangladesh plays, which has allowed the 38-year-old to maintain a lengthy career in this format.

In a touching Facebook post, Shakib expressed, "I vividly recall watching your first Test match at Lord's from the recreation room in BKSP. Since that moment, you have inspired me and numerous cricketers in Bangladesh and beyond. You have dedicated yourself to the sport for years, giving your utmost in every game. From the time you captained the age-level team, I have regarded you as my captain, and that will remain true throughout my cricketing journey."

"Mushfiq bhai, on this significant occasion, I extend my best wishes for your 100th Test match, a remarkable achievement for any cricketer. Just as I watched your debut match, I will be eagerly following every ball you face in your 100th Test. I hope you relish this match, and I wish I could have played alongside you to celebrate your glory on the field," added the all-rounder.

On the morning of the second Test, several mementos were presented to Rahim. Notable figures such as former captain Habibul Bashar, Akram Khan, Bangladesh’s first Test player Md. Aminul Islam — the BCB President and the country’s inaugural Test centurion — and Nazmul Abedeen were present to honor Mushfiqur with a crest and a specially prepared cap for his 100th Test, witnessed by his family.
