Melbourne, Dec 11 (NationPress) The left-handed batter Oliver Peake has been appointed as the captain of Australia for the ICC U19 World Cup, where the defending champions aim to secure their fifth title starting January 12 in Zimbabwe and Namibia.
Peake played a pivotal role in Australia's championship victory in South Africa in 2024 and is the sole player from the current squad who participated in last year's U19 World Cup.
He scored a total of 120 runs across four innings during the tournament, which included an impressive unbeaten 46 in the final against India, after being called up as an injury replacement in the early stages.
