London, December 31 (NationPress) An exciting encounter at Stamford Bridge saw Chelsea and AFC Bournemouth end in a thrilling 2-2 stalemate, with all four goals occurring within the first 27 minutes of play.

This draw meant that Chelsea could not surpass Liverpool for the fourth position in the standings, while Bournemouth stayed in 15th place, extending their winless streak to 10 league games, despite a commendable showing. This match marked the Cherries' fourth draw in five outings.

The first half was a whirlwind of action, with both teams creating numerous scoring opportunities.

Bournemouth opened the scoring when David Brooks managed to net the ball on his second attempt following a long throw-in. However, Chelsea quickly equalized when Estevao Willian was fouled in the penalty area by Antoine Semenyo, allowing Cole Palmer to convert from the spot.

Chelsea then took the lead with a stunning strike from Enzo Fernandez, who found the top corner. Yet, parity was restored shortly after when Justin Kluivert capitalized on another long throw from Bournemouth.

In the second half, Chelsea appeared more determined to find a winning goal, while Bournemouth seemed to tire after their energetic start. Despite Chelsea's efforts, no further goals were scored, resulting in a shared outcome.

In a different match, James Garner played a pivotal role for a depleted Everton, scoring one goal and assisting another to secure a 2-0 victory against Nottingham Forest.

Garner, who had previously been on loan at Forest, opened the scoring early and then assisted Thierno Barry for his second goal in the 79th minute.

Nottingham Forest struggled to convert their chances, with Igor Jesus, Morgan Gibbs-White, and Dilane Bakwa coming close. As a result, Sean Dyche’s squad has now lost three consecutive matches in the Premier League and currently sits just four points above the relegation zone.

Forest remains in 17th place, while Everton climbs to eighth after breaking their three-game winless streak.
