Saqlain Tariq was honored as the Player of the Match.
Goa is set to face Mumbai Meteors in the first semifinal scheduled for Friday.
The match kicked off with both teams launching attacks from the center. Jesus Chourio of Delhi made the first significant impact. Ashwal Rai maintained the pressure for the Thunderbolts with powerful spikes. A clever review by coach Manoj Nair led the Toofans to clinch the first set.
Pankaj Sharma's powerful serve put the Toofans' defense under strain. Ashwal continued to challenge Delhi's libero Aljo Sabu. Matin Takavar executed a stunning block on Chourio, allowing the Thunderbolts to capture the second set.
Aayush made two crucial blocks, enabling Delhi to regain their focus. A risky super point attempt for the Thunderbolts backfired with Carlos's brilliant spike. However, Aayush's overhit shot resulted in a super point for the Thunderbolts as they took the lead, winning the third set.
Having lost two sets, Delhi was on the brink of elimination from semi-final contention. Nevertheless, the outcome did not deter skipper Saqlain Tariq from pushing for victory. Abhishek Rajeev and Muhammed Jasim spearheaded their comeback. With a strategic block from Jasim, Delhi extended the match to a fifth set.
With Matin off the court, Delhi began orchestrating plays from the center, effectively utilizing both Jasim and Aayush. Matin's return applied pressure on the Toofans. However, exceptional defending from libero Aljo helped the Toofans secure a super point, leading to a memorable victory and eliminating Kolkata.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Kochi Blue Spikers exited the tournament after a strong performance in the Prime Volleyball League (PVL) 2025, defeating the Ahmedabad Defenders 15-13, 14-16, 17-15, and 15-9. Erin Varghese was named the Player of the Match. The outcome did not impact Ahmedabad's standings, as they had already secured a place in the semi-finals.
