Prabhsimran Singh struck his second consecutive century in the Sher-e-Punjab T20 League 2026 as Jalandhar Warriors held their nerve to defeat Bathinda Royals by three runs in a breathless last-ball finish at the I.S. Bindra Stadium, Mohali, on 3 September. The Warriors posted 205 in 19.3 overs and then survived a fierce Bathinda fightback to clinch one of the tournament's most dramatic contests.

Jalandhar's innings: Prabhsimran anchors the recovery

Jalandhar were in early trouble, slipping to 62/3 before captain and wicketkeeper-batter Prabhsimran joined Aryan Yadav in the middle. The pair forged a match-defining 118-run fourth-wicket partnership, lifting the Warriors out of danger and back into contention for a big total.

Aryan blazed 39 off 19 balls before falling, while Prabhsimran pressed on to reach yet another century. Late wickets at regular intervals, however, prevented Jalandhar from pushing beyond 205.

Ashwani Kumar's historic hat-trick

Ashwani Kumar was the standout performer with the ball for Bathinda Royals, finishing with figures of 4/35 from his four overs. More significantly, he claimed the first hat-trick of the tournament — dismissing Sukhdeep Bajwa off the final ball of the 17th over, then removing Prabhsimran and Randeep Singh with the opening two deliveries of the 19th over. His spell kept Jalandhar from posting an even larger total.

Bathinda's chase: Saharan falls agonisingly short

Chasing 206, Bathinda openers Rishabh Gupta and Harnoor Singh put on 48 runs for the first wicket before Gurvinder Bhullar broke through, dismissing Rishabh for 17 off 17 balls. Harnoor contributed a composed 44 off 29 balls before departing, leaving captain Uday Saharan to anchor the chase.

Saharan reached his half-century and continued to accelerate, receiving vital support from Shahbaz Sandhu, who smashed 26 off 13 balls. With 18 runs needed off the final over, Bathinda were very much in the hunt — until Randeep Singh dismissed Sandhu off the very first ball.

Last-ball drama seals Jalandhar's win

Saharan refused to capitulate. He struck a six and a four off consecutive deliveries to bring the equation to six runs from two balls. But Randeep then trapped Saharan lbw off the penultimate delivery for a superb 86 off 43 balls, leaving Bathinda needing six off the final ball.

A wide from Randeep reduced the target to five off one legal delivery, but the Royals could manage only two runs off the last ball, handing Jalandhar Warriors a three-run victory in a contest that went to the wire. This is Prabhsimran's second match-winning century in successive games, cementing his status as the tournament's standout batter so far.
