Lucknow, Nov 29 (NationPress) Kidambi Srikanth, a former world number 1, has advanced to his second final of the BWF World Tour in 2025, after triumphing over fellow Indian Mithun Manjunath in a competitive semifinal. Meanwhile, the women’s doubles duo of Gayatri Gopichand and Treesa Jolly also secured their place in the final of the Syed Modi International Super 300 tournament.
Srikanth secured his victory with a score of 21-15, 19-21, 21-13 in a match lasting 59 minutes. He is set to face Hong Kong's Jason Gunawan, who reached the final after Minoru Koga from Japan retired with a score of 12-21, 21-8, 11-0.
In the women’s doubles, the top seeds and reigning champions, Gayatri and Treesa, overcame the seventh seeds, Ong Xin Yee and Carmen Ting of Malaysia, with a score of 21-11, 21-15, setting up a showdown against Japan’s Kaho Osawa and Mai Tanabe.
However, India's journey in the women’s singles concluded when the top seed Unnati Hooda and the giant killer Tanvi Sharma were eliminated in the semifinals.
