Nagpur, May 31 (NationPress) The Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) unveiled the fixtures for the inaugural season of the Vidarbha Pro T20 League on Saturday, set to take place from June 5 to 15. During a grand launch event, the Governing Council of the VPTL also introduced the League Anthem, the Mascot (Waaghoba), and the team jerseys.
Justice Vinay M. Deshpande (Retd), President of the VCA, welcomed attendees and launched the League Anthem. Former VCA President, Adwait Manohar, honored special guest and former India pacer Chetan Sharma at the event.
VPTL ambassadors Umesh Yadav and Jhulan Goswami were greeted with applause as Prashant Vaidya recognized their contributions. The six franchise owners were celebrated, followed by a lucky draw to determine which teams will face off in the inaugural match on June 5, which will be celebrated with an opening ceremony featuring Bollywood's melody king, Sonu Nigam.
The match schedules were then finalized and made public. The finals for both men's and women’s leagues are slated for June 15 (Sunday).
Tickets for the opening match will be sold on the online platform District by Zomato, while entry for spectators on subsequent days will be complimentary, as announced by the Vidarbha Cricket Association.
The team jerseys were showcased, with all captains wearing their franchise colors. Matches will be held at the state-of-the-art VCA Stadium in Jamtha, Nagpur, featuring six men's teams and three women's teams.
