Colombo, Oct 18 (NationPress) New Zealand has won the toss and decided to bowl first against Pakistan during the Women's World Cup match at R. Premadasa Stadium on Saturday.
There was one change in New Zealand's lineup, with Lea Tahuhu replacing Bree Illing.
"We're opting to bowl first today. From the previous match between England and Pakistan, we noticed that they bowled a bit fuller. Therefore, we're eager to take the first opportunity, and given the weather conditions in Colombo over the past week, knowing what we need to chase can be advantageous. We must concentrate on today's game," stated New Zealand captain Sophie Devine at the toss.
"Our focus remains solely on this game, ensuring that we execute the fundamentals effectively and stick to our processes. It might sound cliché, but we recognize that looking too far ahead could lead us to lose our way. We anticipate a great challenge against Pakistan," she added.
In contrast, Pakistan made no alterations to their final eleven.
Pakistan captain Fatima Sana remarked, "We have strong confidence in our team, particularly considering our recent performances in bowling and fielding. We still hold onto that belief. We aim to implement a better strategy today and strive for victory with the same lineup."
