Shivakumar lays twin tunnel foundation stone

Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar laid the foundation stone for a three-lane twin tunnel corridor on 28 June 2026, marking the official launch of a major urban infrastructure project in Bengaluru.

The three-lane twin tunnel corridor will connect the Hebbal Flyover to the Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University (KVAFSU) campus, aiming to ease chronic traffic congestion in north Bengaluru.

The Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA) is executing the three-lane twin tunnel project as part of broader urban mobility upgrades aimed at reducing surface-level traffic load in one of India's fastest-growing cities.

The twin tunnel corridor project, inaugurated by Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar on 28 June 2026, is expected to provide long-term relief to commuters navigating the congested Hebbal stretch in Bengaluru.
