Indian Navy personnel conclude Cam Ranh engagement

Indian Navy personnel aboard the oceanographic research vessel INS Sagardhwani concluded their visit to Cam Ranh, Vietnam on 12 May 2026, following cross-training exercises, bilateral sports fixtures, joint yoga sessions and scientific exchanges between NPOL researchers and the Institute of Oceanography, Nha Trang.

The visit featured cross-training engagements between Indian Navy and Vietnamese naval personnel, bilateral sports fixtures, and joint yoga sessions aimed at strengthening maritime cooperation and cultural exchange between the two nations.

NPOL (Naval Physical and Oceanographic Laboratory) scientists engaged with researchers from the Institute of Oceanography, Nha Trang, exchanging expertise in oceanographic research and marine science methodologies during the vessel's May 2026 port call.

The INS Sagardhwani visit to Cam Ranh underscores India and Vietnam's shared commitment to maritime cooperation, scientific collaboration and regional stability in the Indo-Pacific, advancing bilateral defence and oceanographic research partnerships.
