LoP Gandhi marches for harmony in Gurugram

Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, participated in the Sadbhav Yatra (peace march) across Gurugram district, Haryana on Friday, 8 May 2026, promoting messages of communal harmony and inclusivity.

The Sadbhav Yatra (literally 'goodwill journey') is a Congress initiative designed to strengthen bonds between communities and promote secular values across urban and semi-urban centres.

Gurugram, a major financial and industrial hub in Haryana, hosts a diverse workforce from across India, making it a strategic location for campaigns centred on inclusive politics and communal understanding.

The march reflects the Indian National Congress's emphasis on secular governance and social welfare as counterpoints to majoritarian political narratives in contemporary Indian politics.

Haryana, a key state in India's political landscape, has been a focus for Congress mobilisation efforts, particularly in urban constituencies where demographic diversity creates opportunities for inclusive messaging.

The Sadbhav Yatra series, spanning multiple states, positions the Congress as an advocate for pluralism and democratic participation, seeking to rebuild grassroots connect ahead of forthcoming electoral cycles.
