Manipur CM flags off 13 mobile health units in Imphal

Manipur Chief Minister Khemchand Singh flagged off 13 Mobile Medical Units for the state's hill districts on 9 June 2026, launching the initiative under the PM JANMAN and DA-JGUA schemes at the Directorate of Health Services, Lamphel, Imphal.

The 13 Mobile Medical Units are deployed under two Central schemes — PM JANMAN and DA-JGUA — aimed at extending primary healthcare access to remote hill communities across Manipur.

The mobile units are designed to carry essential medical services directly to Manipur's hill districts, areas where access to fixed healthcare facilities has historically been limited due to difficult terrain.

The flag-off ceremony was held at the Directorate of Health Services, Lamphel, Imphal, with Chief Minister Khemchand Singh presiding — marking a formal step toward bridging the urban-rural healthcare divide in Manipur.
