Karachi: On March 1, unrest took place between protesters and security forces near the U.S. consulate in Karachi, located in southern Pakistan. A spokesperson from the official emergency response unit, Rescue 1122, reported to Xinhua News Agency that a minimum of nine people died and 20 sustained injuries during the demonstrations outside the U.S. consulate that day. This unrest followed the assassination of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.
