Chouhan & Yadav chair stubble burning talks

Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav jointly convened a meeting of state agriculture ministers and senior officials at Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi on 13 October 2026 to address stubble management and crop residue burning.

Senior officials from multiple states joined Chouhan and Yadav at Krishi Bhawan to map out coordinated measures curbing crop residue burning — a key driver of seasonal air quality deterioration across northern India.

The inter ministerial summit at Krishi Bhawan focused on promoting sustainable farming alternatives to stubble burning, with state delegations presenting on ground challenges and policy proposals on 13 October 2026.

The Centre pressed state governments to accelerate adoption of stubble management solutions as Chouhan and Yadav outlined Centre supported interventions aimed at protecting farmers and reducing seasonal air pollution across India.
