Kim Jong Un presides over 9th Central Military Commission

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un chaired the first enlarged session of the ninth Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea at party headquarters in Pyongyang on 9 July 2026, according to the North's official Korean Central News Agency.

Images released by Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on 10 July 2026 showed Kim Jong-un seated at the centre of the first enlarged meeting of the ninth Central Military Commission at the Workers' Party of Korea Central Committee headquarters in Pyongyang.

Kim Jong-un was seen receiving, from secretary Jeong Kyeong-taek, one of seven written orders implementing major military decisions for his signature during the 9 July 2026 session, according to footage aired by Korean Central Television.
