Missing Link inauguration: Fadnavis and Shinde test the new route

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde drove together on the newly inaugurated 13.3-km Missing Link of the Mumbai-Pune Expressway at Khalapur, Raigad district, on 1 May 2026, marking the completion of a key connectivity project.

The Missing Link segment, spanning 13.3 kilometres, now connects the Khalapur interchange to the Lonavala-bound carriageway on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, reducing travel time and easing congestion on the key north-south corridor.

The Missing Link project on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway was officially inaugurated on 1 May 2026 in Raigad district, with Fadnavis and Shinde conducting the inaugural drive to demonstrate the improved connectivity.

Maharashtra's top two leaders, Chief Minister Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Shinde, jointly inaugurated the Missing Link project, showcasing unified governance focus on transport infrastructure in the state.

The 13.3-kilometre Missing Link on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway is now open for public traffic, improving connectivity between Khalapur and Lonavala and reducing travel time on one of India's busiest expressways.
