New Delhi, April 14 (NationPress) AAP leader Somnath Bharti endorsed party spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar’s comments regarding the National Herald case on Monday, describing it as an “open and shut” scenario.

Bharti voiced his perplexity over what he termed as a mysterious alliance between the BJP and Congress, accusing the BJP of concealing corruption not only within its ranks but also within Congress.

This statement followed Priyanka Kakkar’s inquiry into the absence of arrests in the National Herald affair. “Why aren’t Congress leaders facing arrest? It’s because both parties (BJP and Congress) are aligned. As elections approach, they resurrect such cases. The BJP has controlled several agencies for the last decade. The National Herald case is quite straightforward,” she stated.

In support of her assertions, Somnath Bharti remarked to IANS: “What she articulated is accurate. The National Herald case has persisted for a considerable time. Even the High Court and the Supreme Court have denied relief. Everything is in the public domain. Yet, no Congress leader has been detained.”

Contrasting it with the cases against AAP leaders, Bharti continued: “In our situation, there was no scam, no factual tie, no adequate documentation - yet our leaders, including our chief Arvind Kejriwal, were targeted and arrested. I cannot comprehend the essence of this bond and collusion between BJP and Congress.”

Bharti further charged the BJP with harboring the corrupt.

“The BJP has turned into a refuge for corruption. It functions like a washing machine - commit any crime, join them, and be cleansed. It appears the BJP has even provided Congress with a guarantee: we will criticize you, but we won’t arrest you.”

He wrapped up by asserting that this perceived partnership is increasingly apparent to the populace.

“The nation is observing this collusion. While BJP detains AAP leaders without solid evidence, it spares Congress members even in situations with clear disclosures,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) declared on Saturday that it has issued notifications to seize immovable assets amounting to Rs 661 crore linked to a money laundering investigation against the Congress-controlled Associated Journals Limited (AJL).
