Los Angeles, April 8 (NationPress) Hollywood icon Arnold Schwarzenegger delivered some of the most iconic action films in the 1980s. Yet, the action genre was not his territory alone. He had a fierce counterpart in Sylvester Stallone.

The duo has been pivotal in creating unforgettable action movies for a whole generation. Today, they are close friends, frequently expressing admiration for each other on social media. However, things were quite different back in the day. During a conversation with Jimmy Kimmel, Arnold revealed that the 80s felt like an all out war between him and Stallone.

He shared, “In the 80s, he was merely a competitor. It revolved around who was producing larger films, who had more muscle definition, who achieved greater box office success, who had more creative kill scenes, who wielded larger knives, who carried bigger guns.”

He added, “Eventually, I was seen running around with machine guns typically reserved for helicopters or tanks. It was insane. It was truly an all out war.”

Last year, the former governor of California celebrated Sylvester Stallone’s 78th birthday with a heartfelt Instagram post, showcasing several images of their friendship over the years.

He wrote, “Happy birthday my friend, @officialslystallone. You are a champion and a legend. You inspire me and billions of people around the globe.”

According to ‘People’, the Terminator star included photos of them carving pumpkins together, smiling at a Planet Hollywood event, and posing in some distinctly '80s styles.

“The greatest standing side by side with the greatest,” commented TV host Marcos Mion beneath the photos.
