Belagavi, April 16 (NationPress) Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is allegedly attempting to transform Karnataka into a ‘mini Pakistan’ to gain favor with Muslims, as stated by the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the state Assembly, R. Ashoka.

During the BJP’s Janakrosh rally in Belagavi, he remarked, “This is not merely a march of anger from the BJP; it is a collective march of anger from the people. With escalating prices, the public is suffering, and the BJP stands in their corner. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is on a quest to turn the state into Pakistan.”

He added, “There are even concerns regarding foreign interference in his mission to elevate Muslims as a priority. In his efforts to please Muslims, he has fragmented all communities, effectively establishing a mini Pakistan. Some extremists have even circulated letters proclaiming their intent to convert India into Pakistan,” he asserted.

Ashoka further stated, “A political crisis is set to unfold for CM Siddaramaiah in November. He is aware that he must relinquish his position. He is imposing taxes on the impoverished residents of the state. Karnataka and Telangana have become ATMs for the central Congress. This is merely a political spectacle aimed at seizing the chief minister's position.”

“The state's Home Minister is ineffective. Regardless of the number of crimes committed, G. Parameshwara claims it is business as usual. Congress leaders are aware that they will not return to power in the next election. They have increased the costs of milk, alcohol, and even death certificates. They have implemented a tax on waste management. BBMP officials are now measuring waste and imposing taxes accordingly. Even parking a vehicle incurs a tax,” Ashoka claimed.

Later, while addressing reporters, he mentioned, “Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi have allegedly misappropriated Rs 7,500 crore after investing Rs 50 lakh in a newspaper organization established by freedom fighters. This investigation is proceeding under the court’s directive. However, Congress leaders are protesting against it. On what moral grounds can they accuse the BJP when they themselves are embroiled in such corruption?” he questioned.

Ashoka emphasized that the institution founded by freedom fighters should be placed under government oversight, and the two accused should face appropriate repercussions.

“The ED and CBI are independent institutions. Cases are not initiated without justification. Even during Indira Gandhi's tenure as Prime Minister, legal actions were taken against her. That demonstrates the power of the judiciary. Similarly, this case is currently undergoing investigation and resolution in court. What authority does the Congress party possess to grant a clean slate in this matter?” he queried.

Ashoka also criticized CM Siddaramaiah, stating, “Former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda had endowed Siddaramaiah with significant powers. When he failed to secure power, he left JD (S) and joined Congress. Presently, Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar is attempting to seize power from him. Hence, Siddaramaiah is hastily releasing the caste census report. He excels at dividing people based on religion and caste,” he concluded.
