Amitabh Bachchan Reflects on Nighttime Silence and Life's Continuity
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, March 7 (NationPress) The legendary Amitabh Bachchan, an iconic figure in Indian cinema, expressed his thoughts on the tranquility that envelops the city during the late hours. He emphasized how this stillness can be both profound and thought-provoking.
In a recent entry on his blog, the film star articulated his feelings about the serene atmosphere that dominates Mumbai after midnight, where even the slightest noise seems to disrupt the calm.
“.. it’s the serenity that resides in the night, here in the city .. for many, it can be unsettling .. not a sound in this vast Metropolis, and the wonder ..(sic).”
He elaborated on how the tranquility is often interrupted, remarking, “and just as I penned that, a vehicle hits a bump and the quiet is shattered .. and around 1 am, the roar of a high-powered bike returning from work or heading out (sic)..”
Furthermore, Bachchan observed that the sky above the city has appeared clearer and more vibrant lately, a change he attributes to measures implemented at construction sites.
“The sky over the city is bluer and cleaner than it has been in a while .. I have been informed that the water wash at construction sites is responsible .. it cleanses the dust created, leading to an improved atmosphere .. also, the pollution during the monsoon is reduced due to this factor .. washing away dirt or impurities .. and the strategic coastal location helps as well .. the sea winds drive it away .. nature is the best remedy ..(sic).” he noted.
Reflecting on nature's significance, Bachchan pointed out that numerous medicines and chemicals are derived from the earth's natural resources.
In closing, he contemplated the continuous flow of life and quoted a poignant line from his father, the esteemed poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan.
“But life .. life goes on .. a cycle of giving and taking .. organizing and disorganizing .. the loudest sounds and the silence ..,” he wrote, concluding with the line, “because in conclusion: ‘zindagi se zindagi hi kai nijaat.”
He acknowledged that this line comes from his father's poetry collection titled “nayi se nayi purani se purani.”
