Mumbai, Sep 3 (NationPress) Following the announcement by actress Shilpa Shetty regarding the closure of one of her well-known restaurants in Bandra, Mumbai, numerous rumors have surfaced suggesting that this closure is linked to allegations of financial misconduct involving Shilpa and her spouse, Raj Kundra.
However, Shilpa's business partner has now clarified that the closure of the Bandra restaurant signifies not the end of the brand, but the dawn of new opportunities.
”Bandra was our inception, and while this chapter concludes, two new narratives are set to unfold,” stated Ranjit Bindra, the Founder & CEO of Bastian Hospitality.
He emphasized that as they bid farewell to their flagship location, they are eager to introduce two thrilling new additions to their culinary journey.
By mid-October, the iconic space in Bandra will be transformed into Ammakai - a dedicated South Indian restaurant.
This transformation aims to honor the richness of South Indian culinary traditions, featuring recipes deeply rooted in heritage and infused with local flavors.
Additionally, they are expanding their presence to Juhu with the launch of the Bastian Beach Club.
"Bandra has been the starting point of Bastian’s journey, and it will always hold a special place in our hearts. As we progress, it seems fitting to celebrate the richness of South Indian cuisine through Ammakai, while also introducing the vibrant energy of Bastian to Juhu in an exciting new format. We’re closing one chapter, but two new tales are on the horizon, and we eagerly anticipate welcoming you to them," Bindra remarked.
For those unfamiliar, Shilpa and Raj have been implicated by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) for allegedly defrauding a businessman in Mumbai of INR 60.4 crore through a loan-cum-investment scheme associated with their now-defunct enterprise, Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd.
The Mumbai Police report that a businessman, Deepak Kothari, has accused Shilpa and Raj of deceit, claiming that the funds provided from 2015 to 2023 for business growth were misappropriated for personal expenditures.
