Mumbai, Nov 3 (NationPress) In a remarkable financial performance, Bharti Airtel announced an 89% increase in its consolidated net profit for the July-September quarter of the financial year 2026 (Q2 FY26). The company's profit surged to Rs 6,791.7 crore, a significant rise from Rs 3,593.2 crore during the same period last year, as reported in their stock exchange filing.
Airtel's consolidated revenue from operations saw a robust growth of 25.7% year-on-year, reaching Rs 52,145.4 crore, up from Rs 41,473.3 crore in Q2 FY25, largely driven by exceptional performance across mobile and data sectors.
“We achieved another quarter of impressive performance, with a consolidated revenue of Rs 52,145 crore, reflecting a 5.4% sequential growth and highlighting the strength of our diverse portfolio,” stated Gopal Vittal, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director.
“Our success included several new deals in Connectivity, IoT, and security businesses,” he added.
“Our robust balance sheet demonstrates our commitment to disciplined capital allocation, ongoing deleveraging, and sustained operational excellence,” Vittal noted.
The company's EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization) reached Rs 29,919 crore, marking a 36% year-on-year increase.
The EBITDA margin improved to 57.4%, showcasing enhanced operational efficiency and increased revenue per user.
Bharti Airtel continued to enhance its presence in the postpaid segment, adding 0.95 million new customers this quarter, bringing the total postpaid base to 27.5 million.
The number of smartphone data users also grew by 22.2 million over the past year, signifying an 8.4% year-on-year growth.
The company's average revenue per user (ARPU), a critical performance metric for telecom operators, rose to Rs 256 in Q2 FY26 from Rs 233 in the corresponding quarter last fiscal year.
Airtel's net debt-to-EBITDA ratio improved significantly to 1.63 times on an annualized basis, compared to 2.50 times as of September 30, 2024, indicating a stronger balance sheet position.
