Patna, May 8 (NationPress) In light of the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the Bihar government has made the decision to cancel all leaves for personnel in administrative, police, health, and disaster management sectors with immediate effect, emphasizing the need for heightened security readiness.
The directive was issued by B. Rajendra, Additional Chief Secretary of the General Administration Department, on Thursday, as a precautionary measure to ensure that the state is adequately prepared for any potential emergencies or security threats.
As per the order, no officer or employee within the administration or police departments will be permitted to take leave until further notification.
All officials have been instructed to report to their duties without delay and remain present at their designated postings to manage any situations that may develop.
"This is a precautionary measure in light of the evolving national security situation. All departments must maintain a high level of vigilance and readiness," Rajendra stated in the official communication issued on Thursday.
The directive also applies to the Disaster Management Department, which is critical in addressing both natural and man-made emergencies.
The Health Department and law enforcement agencies have also been directed to ensure that resources, personnel, and emergency protocols are prepared to respond promptly to any incidents.
Operation Sindoor was executed by the Indian armed forces at nine locations in Pakistan and PoK during the early hours of Wednesday.
