Bihar Government Endorses 43 Initiatives for Educational and Sectoral Advancements

Patna, Dec 20 (NationPress) In a recent assembly led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the Bihar Cabinet has given the green light to 43 initiatives, including pivotal measures aimed at elevating the educational framework and streamlining the teacher recruitment procedure in the state.
The government under Nitish Kumar has amplified efforts regarding competency evaluations for contractual educators. Candidates will now be granted five attempts to pass the competency examination, an increase from the earlier three attempts.
This measure is designed to offer candidates more chances to refine their skills and boost their likelihood of passing, according to an official statement.
Furthermore, the Cabinet has sanctioned modifications to the Bihar Special Teacher Rules, marking a shift in teacher transfer regulations.
A fresh policy for teacher transfers is set to be developed, permitting educators who successfully complete the competency assessment to retain their current positions if they wish to continue their service at the same location.
Currently, a total of 2,53,534 contractual educators have cleared the competency test and have been acknowledged as special teachers.
These special teachers will maintain their roles in their respective areas and will receive the remuneration associated with special teacher status.
At this time, 85,609 teachers have yet to pass the competency examination, which might jeopardize their eligibility as special teachers.
The Cabinet also approved the establishment of 469 new positions for Block Minority Welfare Officers under the Minority Welfare Department in Bihar. This initiative aims to bolster welfare services for minority groups within the state.
In addition, numerous other critical decisions were made regarding various projects associated with education, health, infrastructure, and governmental programs. These initiatives are anticipated to expedite Bihar's comprehensive development and enhance the quality of services available to its residents.
Post-meeting, the Cabinet Secretary addressed the press, underscoring that these decisions are vital for the state's advancement and will facilitate the efficient operation of government activities in Bihar.
