New Delhi, Oct 11 (NationPress) The BJP on Saturday criticized the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, for his abroad vacation, questioning what justifications the absent leader would provide after the anticipated defeat of the Mahagathbandhan in the Bihar Assembly elections next month.
Amit Malviya, who heads the BJP's National Information and Technology Department, expressed his views on X, stating, “If Rahul Gandhi is finished learning how to brew coffee in Colombia and enjoying his vacation, it’s time for him to come back to India. The Bihar elections are approaching, with polling commencing in less than a month.”
Malviya expressed confidence in a significant victory for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the upcoming Assembly elections scheduled for November 6 and 11, asserting, “The Mahagathbandhan will face defeat again. The Congress will, as always, blame everyone but their missing leader!”
Previously, Malviya criticized Gandhi’s international trip, accusing him of presenting a negative image of the country and stating that “India doesn’t aspire to lead the world.”
On October 4, he shared a video of Gandhi speaking to an audience, remarking, “We don’t need leaders like Rahul Gandhi, who lack big dreams. Today’s India is ambitious, confident, and forward-looking, not submissive or hesitant.”
He continued, “While India rises as a global power with its economy outpacing others and citizens valuing their passports and seizing opportunities worldwide, Rahul Gandhi, burdened by years of self-doubt and low self-esteem, claims India doesn’t wish to lead the world.”
“This mentality has cost India dearly in history, leading to partition, ceding parts of Kashmir to Pakistan and China, relinquishing a UNSC seat, relying on imports instead of developing domestic capabilities in nuclear and military fields, and choosing a socialist approach over investing in future growth... The list is extensive. The Nehru-Gandhi family has consistently let India down,” Malviya stated.
His comments were a reaction to Gandhi’s recent speech where he stated, “India, I don’t think, has the intention to, one day, lead the world. We recognize that we are a large country and carry weight… but I don’t think we see ourselves as leading the world.”
The BJP had earlier criticized the Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha for misrepresenting India during his speech abroad. Speaking at the EIA University in Medellin, Colombia, Gandhi claimed, “India doesn’t manufacture,” which Malviya refuted, asserting that the country is projected to be a manufacturing economy by 2025.
