New Delhi, Jan 17 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday unveiled a series of electoral incentives for the fiercely contested Delhi Assembly elections, pledging Rs 2,500 in monthly financial support to women, a Rs 500 subsidy on LPG cylinders, and medical insurance coverage of up to Rs 10 lakh for all residents.
During the launch of the BJP manifesto, party president J.P. Nadda also announced plans for establishing Atal canteens post-elections, aimed at supplying meals to the underprivileged for just Rs 5.
Nadda highlighted that the BJP's manifesto would be introduced in stages, emphasizing that empowering women and youth is a vital aspect of its ‘Sankalp Patra’.
“A pregnancy nutrition kit worth Rs 21,000 will be provided to every expectant mother in the capital,” he stated.
He also announced that the new BJP administration would fully endorse the Ayushman Bharat scheme during its first cabinet meeting, increasing the medical insurance cap from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.
“In addition to the Centre’s Rs 5 lakh medical coverage under Ayushman Bharat, the new city government will offer an extra Rs 5 lakh, bringing the total to Rs 10 lakh,” he elaborated.
Furthermore, the BJP President committed to establishing Atal canteens throughout the city, providing meals for just Rs 5. He criticized the Kejriwal-led AAP for misleading voters with unfulfilled promises of Anna canteens.
“In 2015, AAP pledged to introduce Anna canteens, but it never materialized,” he emphasized, asserting that the BJP follows through on its promises.
At the launch of the BJP’s ‘Sankalp Patra’ on the last day for nomination filing, Nadda credited PM Modi for initiating a new ‘political culture’ across the nation.
He remarked that party manifestos have transformed into commitments, leading elections to focus on development goals rather than trivial matters.
“Previously, both the public and political parties would overlook their electoral promises, but due to the transformative vision of PM Modi, people are now demanding accountability and fulfillment of these commitments,” he stated.
Nadda also informed reporters that the party’s Sankalp Patra would be released in various phases over the coming days. With a focus on women and slum-dwellers, this manifesto outlines the BJP's vision for the capital, setting the stage for a high-stakes electoral contest.
