Hyderabad, Dec 2 (NationPress) An IndiGo flight from Kuwait to Hyderabad was redirected to Mumbai on Tuesday following a reported bomb threat received by authorities at Hyderabad Airport.

The flight, designated as 6E-1234, was midair when it was diverted after a threatening message reached customer support at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) at 5:12 a.m., according to official sources.

With 235 passengers on board, the flight executed an emergency diversion, landing safely at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) at 7:47 a.m.

Upon landing, the aircraft was moved to a secure location as part of emergency protocols. Personnel from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), along with bomb disposal teams, conducted a comprehensive examination. Fortunately, all passengers and crew were unharmed.

The Airbus A321-251NX had taken off from Kuwait at 1:31 a.m. and was expected to arrive at Hyderabad Airport at 8:10 a.m.

After receiving an email warning about a possible bomb on board, officials at RGIA alerted the relevant authorities, leading to the flight's diversion to Mumbai Airport as per security protocols.

Authorities are currently investigating the origin of the threat. The RGIA police have registered a case and are pursuing further investigations.

This marks the second occurrence in just ten days where an international flight headed to Hyderabad was diverted to Mumbai due to a bomb threat.
