Los Angeles, June 26 (NationPress) Hollywood actress Charlize Theron revealed what left her daughters feeling frightened. The 49-year-old star embraced a striking new hairstyle for her role in the upcoming film ‘The Old Guard 2’, which did not resonate well with her children.
The actress disclosed that her daughters, Jackson, 12, and August, 9, were far from impressed with her new look, as reported by Female First UK.
During her appearance on the chat show Late Night with Seth Meyers, Charlize shared, "I have two girls, and they're very, very... mostly very girly. They see me as a princess and want Mom to embody that princess image. However, when they returned from school, I was in my bathroom getting my hair cut and colored. They came in with excitement, only to freeze in shock. One of them even started crying!"
The Oscar-winning actress recounted, "One of my daughters was literally in tears. I had to sit down with her and explain, 'We all get to express ourselves how we want to. Right now, Mom wants to sport a mullet. I don’t dictate how you style your hair.'"
Imitating one of her daughters, Charlize added, "I still don’t like it."
According to Female First UK, the ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ star recently disclosed that her children are not particularly impressed with her Hollywood accolades.
In a light-hearted moment on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Theron joked, "My kids have no respect for me. It’s unbelievable! I feel quite humble, but sometimes I think, 'There’s an Oscar right there!' They are just not impressed at all!"
She recounted a time when her youngest child unflatteringly compared her to Tom Cruise. Charlize explained, "I was picking up my youngest from dance class, and we passed a poster of Tom Cruise from the new Mission Impossible. He looked so cool!"
She elaborated, "My kids were present when I filmed ‘Old Guard 2’, where I executed an intricate sequence involving an extraordinary helicopter pilot, Fred North. We choreographed an intense scene with me fighting off helicopters and defying gravity. It was thrilling!"
“It took around two weeks to film this sequence, and I thought, ‘Wow, I just accomplished that!’ However, my child looked at the Tom Cruise poster and said, ‘He looks way cooler than you did hanging off that helicopter.’ I was left thinking, ‘I hung off the helicopter! Can I get some credit?’”
