Jashpur, Jan 6 (NationPress) A suspect has been apprehended in relation to the Rs 6.55 crore paddy procurement fraud case in Chhattisgarh, as reported by police on Tuesday.
The alleged misconduct was identified at the Konpara paddy procurement sub-centre in Tumla, within the Jashpur district.
In response to a comprehensive report submitted by the Nodal Officer of the Chhattisgarh State Cooperative Bank Limited, also referred to as Apex Bank, an official first information report (FIR) has been filed and an investigation initiated.
The arrested individual, Shishupal Yadav, aged 39, is a resident of Jharmunda village under the jurisdiction of Tumla, and is currently in judicial custody.
Meanwhile, five additional suspects are still evading capture, as search operations are ongoing with arrests expected shortly.
This case revolves around six individuals linked to the Tribal Service Cooperative Society Limited, managing procurement during the Kharif marketing season 2024-25.
