Raipur, Sep 30 (NationPress) In a noteworthy administrative transformation, the Chhattisgarh government executed transfer orders for 14 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers on Tuesday, just after the induction of IAS Vikas Sheel as the new Chief Secretary of the state.
This reshuffle signifies a deliberate reorganisation of essential departments and leadership positions throughout the state bureaucracy. Vikas Sheel, a 1994-batch IAS officer, officially took charge as the 13th Chief Secretary of Chhattisgarh at Mahanadi Bhawan, succeeding Amitabh Jain, who retired on September 30.
Prior to this, Sheel held the role of Executive Director at the Asian Development Bank in Manila and has been involved in key roles in both state and central governments. His previous assignments include Collector of Korea, Bilaspur, and Raipur, and Secretary of departments such as School Education, Food and Civil Supplies, General Administration, and Health.
Since 2018, he was on central deputation, acting as Mission Director of the Jal Jeevan Mission and in the Ministry of Jal Shakti.
Among the prominent changes, senior IAS officials Renu Pillai and Subrata Sahu have been relieved of their secretarial duties. Pillai has now been appointed as the Chairman of Vyapam and given additional responsibilities for the Board of Secondary Education.
