Faridabad, Nov 12 (NationPress) Authorities have detained a second-hand car dealer in Haryana's Faridabad, who is suspected of selling the Hyundai i20 involved in the recent Delhi explosion to Dr. Mohammed Umar and Tariq. The dealer is currently under investigation regarding this transaction, according to sources.

The police have also confiscated sales documents linked to this case from the dealer.

As the probe into the Delhi blast progresses, it has come to light that the Hyundai i20 was purchased from a second-hand car dealer situated in Sector 37 of Faridabad.

The explosion took place on the evening of November 10, when the Haryana-registered Hyundai i20, parked near Gate No.1 of the Red Fort Metro Station, detonated, resulting in the deaths of at least eight individuals and injuring many others. Heightened alerts have been issued in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Mumbai, with increased security in crowded areas and around religious sites.

This incident follows the police's recent dismantling of a terror module linked to Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, where authorities seized 2,900 kg of explosives along with a substantial cache of weapons.

Two doctors from Jammu and Kashmir, Adil Ahmad Rather and Muzammil, have been apprehended in connection with these terror groups, which reportedly caused panic within the module leading up to the explosion.

Sources indicate that the Hyundai i20 was initially owned by Mohammad Salman, who was arrested on Monday night. The car changed hands multiple times—first sold to Nadeem, then to the second-hand dealer in Faridabad, who is now being interrogated.

The vehicle was later acquired by Aamir and subsequently by Tariq, who is also believed to have ties to the Faridabad terror module, before being purchased by Mohammed Umar. Both Aamir and Tariq are under scrutiny by the authorities.

In the aftermath of the explosion, the Delhi Police have ramped up their investigation, uncovering vital details from CCTV footage that tracked the suspect vehicle's movements leading up to the blast.

According to police sources, the footage shows that the white i20 was parked near the Red Fort parking area at approximately 3:19 p.m., where it remained for nearly three hours before exiting around 6:48 p.m.

The vehicle departed during a time of heavy foot traffic, according to police officials.

A case has been registered under UAPA Sections 16 and 18, alongside provisions of the Explosives Act and various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Authorities are diligently piecing together the timeline of events leading to the explosion, emphasizing that all potential aspects are under investigation.
