New Delhi, Oct 30 (NationPress) In a significant move towards enhancing citizen-centric policing and the digital evolution of law enforcement services, the Delhi Police has announced the initiation of cyber e-FIR registrations starting November 1 for complaints of cyber financial frauds that involve amounts of Rs 1 lakh or more. This change is an upgrade from the previous threshold of Rs 10 lacs.
As stated in a press release by the Delhi Police on Thursday, “Effective from November 1, 2025, complainants can approach any police station, where personnel at the Integrated Help Desk will promptly register their complaint and e-FIR if the amount exceeds Rs 1 lakh.”
All e-FIRs will undergo investigation similar to regular FIRs at their designated jurisdictional cyber police stations, the Crime Branch, and the Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO).
The police indicated that “the registration of e-FIRs at the police station level is expected to guarantee timely and comprehensive investigations by the police within 72 hours, which will significantly enhance the seizure and recovery of defrauded amounts.”
