Odisha: The Dhenkanal postal division has unveiled the Advanced Postal Technology (APT) 2.0 service, enabling customers to receive real-time tracking updates via SMS, marking a significant advancement in postal services.
Available across 55 post offices, including two head post offices and 462 branch post offices in both Anugul and Dhenkanal districts, this service is a game-changer for users.
Customers can now monitor the status of their mail or parcels from the moment they are sent until they reach their destination. This feature aims to alleviate frustrations associated with traditional postal systems, often perceived as slow and inefficient.
Jambeswar Garanayak, the Postal Superintendent of the Dhenkanal Postal Division, stated, “The APT 2.0 service is crafted to offer a more effective and transparent tracking solution for our clients.” He emphasized that this service is accessible to all customers and is anticipated to enhance the overall quality of postal services in the region.
Additionally, senders will receive real-time notifications upon delivery. Other features include support for Unified Payments Interface (UPI) payments, reflecting a commitment to utilizing the latest technology to better serve subscribers.
The APT 2.0 application is part of the Postal Department's ongoing digital transformation and modernization efforts, contributing to the broader Modernization Project 2.0 in line with the Digital India Mission.
This application is designed to provide a superior user experience, expedited service delivery, and a secure system for backend operations and customer interactions at post offices.
Previously, the Dhenkanal Postal Division set a record by opening the highest number of accounts in the India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) in Odisha, with nearly 10,000 accounts created in Dhenkanal and Angul districts within a short timeframe in 2019.
