Doda, July 26 (NationPress) Residents of the Bhaderwah block in Doda district, Jammu and Kashmir, are overflowing with gratitude toward the central government for the effective execution of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). This initiative, which focuses on providing housing for the underserved, has significantly improved the lives of numerous families who once lived without adequate shelter.
Community members from Bhaderwah expressed their sincere appreciation, indicating that the scheme has allowed many low-income families to finally construct their own homes. They recognized the financial support under PMAY as a vital resource for those finding it challenging to secure decent housing.
Renu Devi, a beneficiary of PMAY-G, recounted her story.
“Previously, we were cramped in a single room, which was quite challenging for our entire family. After receiving financial assistance through this program, we managed to build a proper house. I got Rs 50,000 in the first installment, Rs 70,000 in the second, and Rs 20,000 later. This help is crucial for families in need. I want to express my gratitude to the government and urge them to increase the support to Rs 5-6 lakh. We aspire to provide a better life for our children. This initiative must continue.”
Another beneficiary, Ponam Devi, also conveyed her thankfulness:
“I am grateful to the government for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. With around Rs 1.5 lakh that we received, we constructed two rooms. Today, we enjoy a peaceful life. I especially thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi for introducing such a beneficial scheme for the underprivileged.”
