Ahmedabad, Feb 23 (NationPress) Highlighting the significance of the National Education Policy (NEP)-2020 in cultivating institutions prepared for the future, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel stated on Monday that the centenary year of the Gujarat Law Society (GLS) presents a unique chance to further synchronize higher education with the value-centric and comprehensive learning outlined in the policy.

While inaugurating the centenary celebrations of the Gujarat Law Society, the Chief Minister remarked that institutions with a rich legacy of public trust should be at the forefront of implementing reforms that equip students for contributing to nation-building.

“GLS is celebrating its 100th year coinciding with the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Patel,” he noted, emphasizing that the institution’s history reflects the unwavering public confidence in its academic excellence.

He emphasized that NEP-2020 advocates for multidisciplinary education, skill enhancement, and character development, stating, "GLS possesses the ability to weave these principles into its educational framework."

Extending his congratulations to the management, faculty, and students, he asserted, “GLS is making a significant contribution to the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ through youth education, thus preparing them for their role in nation-building.”

Additionally, he pointed out that reaching the milestone of 100 years in education signifies that the institution has garnered the trust of society and urged it to include initiatives like ‘Catch the Rain’ in its centenary events.

The ceremony marked the official launch of GLS’s centenary celebrations, which began in 1927 and will conclude in 2027.
