Gandhinagar, July 13 (NationPress) In just a 24-hour period, a total of 105 talukas in Gujarat experienced considerable rainfall, with numerous areas receiving heavy to very heavy downpours, particularly during the nighttime.
Among the most impacted was the Banaskantha district, which saw two inches of rain within a mere two hours from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m., resulting in waterlogging in parts of Palanpur.
Dantiwada also recorded two inches during the same period.
In Bhavnagar district, both Umarala and Palitana talukas each received three inches of rain in 24 hours, contributing to a higher water table in the area. Gir Somnath saw Una taluka experience 2.5 inches of rainfall, while Dhangadhra, Gadhada, and Babra each recorded two inches as well.
Vallabhipur and Kaprada talukas also experienced two inches each, with many other talukas registering over one inch in the last 24 hours. Between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday, rainfall was noted in 86 talukas, with significant amounts recorded in Dhrangadhra (1.97 inches), Palitana (1.85 inches), Umarpada (1.22 inches), Barwala (1.1 inches), Dediapada (1.1 inches), and Sagbara (one inch).
Additionally, 79 talukas received lighter rain, measuring up to one inch.
