Tharad (Gujarat), Jan 26 (NationPress) The 77th Republic Day was commemorated at the helipad ground adjacent to the newly built court building at Malupur in the Vav-Tharad district, where Gujarat's state-level event took place in the esteemed presence of Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.

This ceremony was held in the newly established district, adhering to the tradition of hosting the state-level Republic Day celebrations in various regions of Gujarat—a practice that began during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tenure as Chief Minister of the state.

Governor Acharya Devvrat hoisted the national flag and paid his respects, subsequently taking the salute during the ceremonial parade.

During the flag-raising event, flower petals were showered from a helicopter, a stunning moment that captivated those in attendance.

Approximately 1,600 personnel from the Gujarat Police, organized into 22 platoons, participated in the march-past, saluting the national flag.

The event also included cultural performances and demonstrations by police contingents, showcasing discipline, service, and national unity.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel conveyed heartfelt greetings to the citizens during this occasion, stating, “On the 77th Republic Day, I wish all citizens well. We honor with gratitude the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for our nation's independence and the visionaries who crafted our Constitution.”

He emphasized that India is steadily progressing towards its goal of becoming a Viksit Bharat by 2047. “It is the duty of every citizen to stay united, uphold constitutional values, and embody the spirit of ‘Nation First’ so that India can achieve a prominent position on the global stage,” he remarked.

While the state-level celebration took place in Vav-Tharad, district-level Republic Day functions were also organized throughout Gujarat, including Ahmedabad, in alignment with established protocols.

As part of the statewide observance, Ministers of State represented the government at various venues.

Minister of State for Cottage Industries Swarupji Thakor attended the Republic Day function at Shankheshwar in Patan district, while Minister of State for Primary, Secondary, and Adult Education Rivaba Jadeja participated in the celebrations in Gadhada, Botad district.

In nine districts, Collectors hoisted the national flag at designated taluka headquarters, which included Meghraj in Aravalli district, Ogd in Banaskantha, Amod in Bharuch, Bhanvad in Devbhoomi Dwarka, Kalavad in Jamnagar, Keshod in Junagadh, Tankara in Morbi, Uchchhal in Mandvi, and Tapi in Surat district.

The ceremonies in these locations were executed with official honors and featured participation from administrative officers, security personnel, students, and local residents, marking the national day throughout the state.
