He emphasized that the statue's significance lies in the fact that it was constructed through a mass movement, connecting individuals from every part of India.
On social media platform X, PM Modi stated, "The Statue of Unity is a tribute to Sardar Patel, and what’s remarkable is that it was built through a mass movement, where people from across India, especially from villages, felt a connection to this iconic statue. Visit Kevadia to witness its grandeur yourself."
Furthermore, the Prime Minister shared a post from 'Modi Archive,' highlighting how the concept of the Statue of Unity was first proposed in October 2010 when Narendra Modi held the position of Chief Minister of Gujarat.
"In October 2010, @narendramodi, then Chief Minister of Gujarat, envisioned a project aimed at uniting the nation. He aspired to honor Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India, by constructing the world’s tallest statue," the X post revealed.
