Gandhinagar, Oct 31 (NationPress) On the significant occasion marking the 150th birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India and the architect of a unified nation, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel alongside Assembly Speaker Shankar Chaudhary laid floral tributes at Sardar Patel's statue and portrait within the premises of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly.
During his address, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel remarked that Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered the “most authentic tribute” to Sardar Patel through the construction of the world’s tallest statue—the Statue of Unity located at Ekta Nagar, Kevadia. He stated, “Since 2014, under the guiding vision of Prime Minister Modi, India has been observing Sardar Patel’s birth anniversary on October 31 as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) to celebrate his legacy of unity and integrity.”
Furthermore, the Chief Minister called upon citizens to embody the essence of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas', emphasizing that collective participation and national integration are essential to achieving Patel’s dream of a united India.
In his address, Assembly Speaker Shankar Chaudhary underscored Sardar Patel’s timeless message of unity in the face of global challenges. “It is every citizen's duty to fulfill Sardar Patel’s vision of a robust and united India,” he conveyed, sending greetings to the people of Gujarat on Rashtriya Ekta Diwas.
Numerous dignitaries, including Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Dr. Praduman Vaja, Gandhinagar Mayor Meenaben Patel, City BJP President Ashish Dave, senior officials, municipal councillors, and Assembly staff, participated in the ceremony, offering floral tributes to Sardar Patel's statue and portrait in a show of deep respect.
Meanwhile, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the nation celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on the 150th birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, with a grand parade exemplifying India's unity in diversity and women’s empowerment.
The event's highlight was the proactive leadership of women officers, who commanded various contingents, showcasing the government's dedication to fostering gender equality and inclusive leadership. From security forces to cultural units, women were at the forefront, symbolizing strength, discipline, and empowerment in action.
The parade displayed a rich variety of participating forces, including the Border Security Force (BSF) and its band, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and CISF band, along with police contingents from Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Maharashtra, Kerala, and Tripura.
