A woman biker in Gurugram, Haryana, has alleged that a car repeatedly followed her group before striking her motorcycle and fleeing the scene on Golf Course Road, sparking widespread concern over road safety in the city. The incident, which reportedly occurred on Sunday, was captured on an action camera mounted on the rider's bike and has since gone viral on social media.

What Sia Says Happened

The rider, who identifies herself as Sia and runs the Instagram page 'rebelwheels_sia_', was riding her Aprilia RS 457 sports bike along Golf Course Road with fellow members of her biking group when the alleged incident unfolded. According to Sia, the occupants of the car had been trailing her from the start of the ride, behaving aggressively and repeatedly attempting to pull alongside her motorcycle.

Sia alleged that when she asked the occupants to maintain a safe distance, they instead asked her to stop. She also claimed that the men in the vehicle appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. A friend riding behind her attempted to block the car by positioning his motorcycle between the two vehicles, but the car allegedly persisted.

According to Sia, the driver eventually attempted to cut across her path, resulting in a direct collision. The impact knocked her off her bike, and her motorcycle was dragged several metres down the road before the car reportedly drove away from the scene.

The Confrontation and Denial

Sia alleged that one of her friends gave chase and managed to stop the car at a nearby traffic signal. The friend reportedly confronted the driver, telling him he was responsible for the crash. However, according to Sia, the driver denied any involvement and drove off from the signal without providing details or taking responsibility.

'I have nothing to say, but today I felt unsafe on Gurugram roads. People like these aren't afraid of hitting people and running away,' Sia said after the incident.

Video Goes Viral, Social Media Demands Action

The footage, recorded on Sia's action camera, gained significant traction online after she uploaded it on social media. Users expressed solidarity with the rider and tagged Delhi Police, Gurugram Police, Gurugram Traffic Police, and Haryana Police, urging authorities to investigate. Several called for an FIR to be registered, while others raised broader concerns about rash driving and the safety of riders — particularly women — on Gurugram's busy roads.

Sia also shared the vehicle's registration number and identified the registered owner mentioned in the vehicle's registration certificate, urging the Gurugram Police to act against motorists who endanger others and flee after causing accidents.

The Broader Road Safety Question

This incident comes amid growing public concern about road rage and hit-and-run cases in the National Capital Region (NCR). Gurugram's high-speed arterial roads — including Golf Course Road — have been the site of several road rage incidents in recent years. Notably, bikers and two-wheeler riders remain among the most vulnerable groups in such confrontations, given the physical exposure involved. The use of personal action cameras by riders is increasingly becoming both a safety measure and a tool of accountability in the absence of adequate road surveillance at every stretch.

As of now, there is no official statement from the Gurugram Police confirming registration of a case. The response of law enforcement to the video and Sia's formal appeal is expected to determine what action, if any, is taken against the car's occupants.
