Gurugram, Jan 16 (NationPress) The Haryana Industry and Commerce Minister, Rao Narbir Singh, has instructed officials to hasten the finalization of infrastructure projects associated with the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) and Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) as part of the Comprehensive Mobility Management Plan-2020.
The objective of this plan is to improve traffic management and metro connectivity within Gurugram.
The Minister emphasized that these projects must be completed before the onset of the monsoon season to guarantee efficient traffic movement and urban growth.
During a review meeting held in Chandigarh with senior representatives from GMDA, GMRL, Haryana Urban Development Authority, and the Gurugram Municipal Corporation (MCG), the Minister expressed his vision of transforming Gurugram into a city characterized by clean and uninterrupted traffic flow.
From an industrial standpoint, Gurugram ranks among the most esteemed industrial hubs in the nation. There is a strong focus on public transportation networks, including the Rapid Metro, Inter Ring Road, RRTS, and Metro Rail.
Consequently, executing this work is crucial, he noted.
He also mentioned that while constructing U-turns at grade separators for ROBs, RUBs, and the metro, adequate provisions for rainwater drainage must be established. The goal is to prevent waterlogging at these critical points during the rainy season.
With only six months until the monsoon arrives, officials should prioritize the completion of these initiatives. The meeting also disclosed that the overall length of the metro connection project, which will extend from Millennium City Center to Railway Station-Sector-22-Cyber City, will be 28.5 km.
This project will feature 27 stations and a metro depot, with an estimated total cost, inclusive of land acquisition, amounting to Rs 5,452.72 crore. Under the Comprehensive Mobility Management Plan-2020, 35 grade separators, 3 ROB-RUBs, and 200 intersection junctions will be constructed and enhanced.
