Gurugram, April 13 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Haryana, Nayab Singh Saini, emphasized on Sunday that Guru Gobind Singh inspired a spirit of courage and sacrifice in individuals by establishing the Khalsa Panth on April 13, 1699.

He provided a transformative vision for society by merging bravery and heroic spirit with spiritual beliefs.

During his address at Gurdwara Sadh Sangat, located in South City-I, Gurugram, in celebration of Baisakhi, the Chief Minister offered his respects at the gurdwara and wished everyone a joyous occasion.

He noted that Guru Gobind Singh founded the Khalsa Panth on Baisakhi in 1699 as a response to combat injustice and oppression.

During that time, the nation was under Mughal rule, with severe atrocities being inflicted upon the populace, forcing many to convert.

Society was fragmented along caste and religious lines. In those challenging times, Guru Gobind Singh performed miraculous feats that exceeded the capabilities of an ordinary individual.

He motivated individuals to make various sacrifices to safeguard their faith and honor.

While establishing the Khalsa Panth, Guru Gobind Singh included the Panj Pyaras from five distinct castes and regions of the country, ultimately abolishing discrimination by administering Amrit from a single vessel to all.

He rejected distinctions among people based on language, caste, or religion.

The Chief Minister highlighted that state-level events were arranged to honor the 550th Prakash Parv of Guru Nanak Dev in 2019 and the 350th Prakash Parv of Guru Gobind Singh in 2017.

The 400th Prakash Parv of Guru Teg Bahadur was celebrated in 2022 with a state-level function on the historic grounds of Panipat.

CM Saini stated, "The Indian government, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, constructed the Kartarpur Corridor to facilitate visits of the Sikh community to the Kartarpur Sahib Gurdwara in Pakistan, where Guru Nanak Dev spent a significant part of his life."

He also mentioned that the Haryana government transferred land adjacent to Gurdwara Chilla Sahib in Sirsa to the gurdwara management committee, meeting a long-standing need. Guru Nanak Dev had meditated there for 40 days and resided in Sirsa.

He remarked that the Gurugram gurdwara, which began in 2000 on a modest plot, has expanded significantly with the blessings of the Gurus and will continue to grow even larger.

He assured that all demands presented by the gurdwara management would be addressed promptly, including requests for additional land.

The Chief Minister announced a grant of Rs 21 lakh for the gurdwara.

He noted the commendable services provided by the gurdwara at its wellness center, which offers treatment to many underprivileged patients daily.

"Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, India is continuously evolving, making visits to gurdwaras like Hemkunt Sahib significantly easier today. The Prime Minister is scheduled to visit Haryana on April 14 to inaugurate Maharaja Agrasen Airport in Hisar and lay the foundation stone for the third unit of the Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Plant in Yamunanagar," he concluded.
