Shimla, Nov 24 (NationPress) The Himachal Pradesh Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, has decided to combine the Anti-Narcotics Task Force with the Special Task Force, establishing a unified Special Task Force under the Home Department. This initiative is designed to improve operational effectiveness and create a single entity to thoroughly address narcotics-related issues. The Cabinet also endorsed a panchayat-wise anti-chitta campaign throughout the state.
In response to losses of household items due to natural disasters, the Cabinet raised the compensation amount from Rs 70,000 to Rs 1 lakh. Additionally, a special package of Rs 7 lakh will be provided for total house destruction in fire incidents, along with plans to reorganize the panchayats in the state.
The Cabinet resolved to provide 150 days of employment under MNREGA and approved the construction of retaining walls with a budget of up to Rs 2 lakh for individual projects. There will also be an engagement of 1,000 Rogi Mitras in the Health Department to enhance patient care across health facilities in the state.
Furthermore, the Cabinet sanctioned the creation and staffing of 800 constable positions in the Police Department. It approved the establishment of sub-fire stations in Kandaghat in Solan district and Rajgarh in Sirmaur district, which includes creating and filling 46 posts across various categories and purchasing four fire-tenders for these stations.
Moreover, 150 posts of Junior Engineer (Civil) will be filled as Job Trainees in the Jal Shakti Vibhag and the Public Works Department. The Cabinet also greenlit the formation of nine super-specialty departments at Dr. Radhakrishnan Government Medical College in Hamirpur, along with the hiring of 73 positions for Professors, Assistant Professors, and Senior Residents.
In addition, 27 Senior Resident posts will be created and filled in the super-specialty department at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College in Tanda, Kangra district.
