"The successes in sectors like energy, healthcare, and connectivity will provide crucial momentum to our bilateral partnership. I extend my heartfelt thanks to the people and Government of Bhutan. I am particularly grateful to His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck for his warm send-off at the airport as I departed for Delhi," the Prime Minister remarked in a post on X.
PM Modi received a gracious farewell from Bhutanese King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck as he returned to New Delhi on Wednesday after successfully wrapping up his two-day visit to the South Asian country.
Earlier that day, PM Modi attended the Kalachakra 'Wheel of Time' empowerment initiation at Changlimithang Stadium alongside Bhutanese King Wangchuck and the Fourth King of Bhutan, Jigme Singye Wangchuck, as part of the ongoing Global Peace Prayer Festival held in Thimphu.
More than 30,000 attendees, including international visitors, participated in the sacred ceremony, which was overseen by Je Khenpo, the Chief Abbot of Bhutan.
"I had the privilege of inaugurating the Kalachakra 'Wheel of Time' Empowerment with His Majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, the King of Bhutan, and His Majesty The Fourth Druk Gyalpo. This ritual, presided over by His Holiness the Je Khenpo, holds significant cultural importance for Buddhists worldwide," PM Modi shared on X.
