Navi Mumbai, Oct 31 (NationPress) The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed that Eloise Sheridan and Jacquline Williams will officiate as on-field umpires for the 2025 Women’s ODI Cup final, scheduled to take place between India and South Africa at the DY Patil Stadium this Sunday.
The pair previously officiated during South Africa’s impressive 125-run semi-final victory over England at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati, bringing valuable big-match expertise to the final, which promises to crown a new ODI World Cup champion for the first time since 2000.
Jacquline also officiated during the group-stage match between these two finalists on October 9, where South Africa executed a precise run chase of 252 at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.
Sue Redfern has been designated as the third umpire, while Nimali Perera will serve as the fourth umpire. Michell Pereira is set to manage the final as the match referee. Both India and South Africa are striving to capture their first ICC title across any formats.
This Sunday marks South Africa’s inaugural appearance in a Women’s ODI World Cup final, while India has previously reached the final in 2005 and 2017, finishing as runners-up to Australia and England, respectively.
India will draw confidence from their familiar environment as they prepare for the final in Navi Mumbai—where they achieved a remarkable semi-final victory over Australia, thanks to a stellar unbeaten 127 from Jemimah Rodrigues.
The home team remains undefeated at this venue during the tournament, having triumphed over New Zealand in the league stage and Australia in the semi-final, with their match against Bangladesh being washed out. This venue has become a stronghold for India, with enthusiastic crowd support expected once more for the final. In contrast, this will be South Africa’s first match in Navi Mumbai during this competition.
