Muscat, Dec 18 (NationPress) Members of the Indian community expressed their overwhelming joy after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a community gathering in the capital of Oman, Muscat, on Thursday. They emphasized feeling inspired by his speech and expressed a strong desire to contribute to their homeland.

During the event, titled 'Maitri Parv', PM Modi addressed a significant audience, showcasing India's remarkable accomplishments across various sectors, from digital payment systems like UPI to ambitious space missions such as Gaganyaan. He elaborated on how India's rich cultural heritage is gaining recognition on the global stage.

A school student who was present at the gathering stated, "It was an immense honor to meet him. I can't adequately express the moment when he conversed with me. He was incredibly friendly and engaged with all of us. He visited in 2018 as well, but I missed the chance to meet him then, so I am extremely thankful to my school for this opportunity."

The community event in Muscat also saw participation from over 700 students from different Indian schools. This year is particularly significant as these schools celebrate their 50th anniversary in Oman.

An Indian diaspora member expressed, "We all feel inspired by this experience, and it signifies the future of our nation. We are truly grateful to be here and appreciate everyone who contributed to the event's success. The atmosphere during the Prime Minister's speech was incredibly uplifting. We are thankful to God for this opportunity."

Another attendee described his excitement at seeing PM Modi, recognizing him as the driving force behind India's development. He remarked that PM Modi's efforts are not only for India's growth but also have a global impact.

"PM Modi is the visionary behind India's progress. Seeing such a personality before us was exhilarating. We wish for him to continue advancing our nation and the world. He is modernizing India and encouraging Omani students to participate in India's space development initiatives. This reflects his desire to share knowledge and progress, aligning with the philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam," he stated.

Another community member shared, "We were already thrilled at his arrival, and now we are so energized that we genuinely want to give back to our nation. We take immense pride in our country."

One student expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration between India and Oman in education, science, and space. "We wish India and Oman all the best. Bharat Mata ki Jai," he declared.

As PM Modi began his address, chants of 'Bharat Mata ki Jai', 'Vande Mataram', and 'Modi, Modi' echoed from the audience, all eager to see him. He acknowledged the expanding presence of the Indian community, emphasizing their role in strengthening ties with other nations.

PM Modi stated that 'Maitri Parv' celebrates the friendship, shared history, and promising future between India and Oman, praising the Indian diaspora as a living example of coexistence and collaboration.

"I see a mini India before me... Today, we gather as a family. We celebrate our country and Team India. India's diversity is rooted in its strength. Each day brings a new color, every season a new celebration, and each tradition a new thought. Regardless of where we Indians go or reside, we honor diversity and adapt to the culture and customs of our surroundings," he remarked.

"Here in Oman, I am witnessing this firsthand. The Indian diaspora exemplifies coexistence and cooperation. Our cultural heritage was recently recognized by UNESCO, which included Diwali in the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Now, the 'diya' of Diwali will illuminate not only our homes but also the entire world. This recognition is a point of pride for Indians globally, symbolizing hope, harmony, and humanity," he added.

PM Modi acknowledged that the success of Indian schools in Oman is attributed to the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said's support. He also expressed gratitude to Sultan Haitham bin Tarik for his assistance and protection of the Indian community in Oman.
